I Wish She Would Wash He, 2006
Description
The Clayton Brothers are a Los Angeles-based artistic duo made up of Rob Clayton (American, b. 1963) and Christian Clayton (American, b. 1967). The Clayton Brothers create works that combine their artistic energies into a single canvas, typically multi-layered collages that they each add to individually. The present example, I Wish She Would Wash He is an excellent example of the explosive energy and brilliant color that characterizes the duo's visual aesthetic.
The Clayton Brothers both received their BFA from Art Center College of Design, Pasadena, CA. Their work has been shown at such institutions as the Pasadena Museum of California Art (CA), the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art (WI), the Museum of the Moving Image (NY), Santa Monica Museum of Art (CA), Laguna Art Museum (CA), Kistler Beach Museum of Art (KS), Corcoran Museum of Art (DC), and the Dallas Museum of Art (TX), among others. The brothers live and work in Los Angeles, CA.
