이창원 작가(1972년 생)는 서울대학교 미술대학을 졸업한 후 독일 뮌스터 쿤스트 아카데미에서 수학했으며 이후 10 여 년 이상 독일에서 활동했다. 시각적인 속임수를 결합시킨 그의 작품은 '보는 행위'의 본질에 대해 의문을 제기한다. 그의 널리 알려진 사람형태의 실루엣을 묘사한 작품은 멀리서 보면 회화작품처럼 보인다. 그러나 실제 이 이미지들은 벽면 위에 고정된 흰색 블라인드처럼 보이는 선반 위에 배열한 찻잎이나 홍화 잎과 같은 물체의 그림자가 투영된 것이다. 전시작품인 '평행세계'는 특정부위를 도려낸 보도사진을 이용한다. 도려…
